The AAA Capital District is a high school conference in the state of Virginia that includes schools from the Greater Richmond Region, . AAA is the largest enrollment class of the Virginia High School League and also typically the most competitive level in Virginia high school sports.
The Capital District schools compete in the AAA Central Region with schools from the AAA Colonial District, AAA Central District, and the AAA Dominion District.[1]
The district contained seven schools until 2003, when new Hanover High School opened. The district went back to seven schools the next year when John F. Kennedy merged with Armstrong. In 2010, the district expanded back to eight schools when newly constructed Glen Allen High School was opened.
Atlee, Hanover, and Lee-Davis are located in Hanover County. Highland Springs, Henrico, and Varina are located in Henrico County. Armstrong is located in Richmond City.
